Meedin

Extra-fine merino, knitted seamless, made in Staphorst in the Netherlands.

Henk Troost and Klaas Veijer were after something simple: a jumper that was right in its material, its fit and its longevity. Finding it nowhere, they decided to make it themselves. Meedin grew out of that stubborn idea, stripped back to the essentials: nothing more than needed, nothing less than it should be. Every piece is knitted in one go, in a single body, without seams. The technique stays invisible and turns into feel instead: no seams that scratch, no label edge at the nape, a clean line that follows the body. The yarn is extra-fine merino, light on the skin, regulating temperature through the seasons, cool when it is warm and warm when the temperature drops. Everything is made in Staphorst, in the Netherlands, within the Dutch knitting tradition. The method has a second effect: where an assembled knit leaves 20 to 25% offcuts, this one leaves next to none. Meedin keeps to a handful of models, the crew neck and the roll neck, with merino T-shirts added around them. Fewer pieces, better made, built to last season after season rather than to convince you once.

Crew neck

The crew neck is the everyday knit, the one you pull on without thinking. Straight cut, length adjustable to your height, it hangs clean thanks to the one-piece knitting. Five muted shades make up the range: navy, dark brown, taupe, and grey and black marl. At 130 €, it works on its own or layers without effort. On the navy, the brand suggests blue jeans and a grey blazer for a sober look, a touch dressed up without ever trying too hard. Roll neck

The roll neck carries the same knit into a dressier register. It wraps the neck, holds warmth where the cold sets in, and keeps the clean seamless line. Offered at 145 €, in the same marl shades as the crew: navy, dark brown, taupe, grey and black. The dark brown, for instance, sits well with ecru trousers or deep blue jeans; under a charcoal blazer, the whole thing takes on a warm, quiet elegance. A winter piece, but not only: merino regulates enough to carry it through the seasons, without ever weighing you down.

The T-shirts turn merino into a light layer. Crew or V-neck, you choose by the mood of the day: on show by itself, discreet under a shirt, or as a first layer beneath a jumper.
