ic! was started in Berlin in 1996. Berlin is now a world leader in making precise eyewear. The brand came up with the screwless hinge system, which is a patented technical breakthrough that lets temples fold without any extra metal parts. Light, almost unbreakable, and easy to fix, ic! The Berlin workshop makes the frames by hand from stainless steel plates that have been cut with lasers. Each model is named after a street in Prenzlauer Berg, which is a nod to the city's underground culture.
