Compagnie Coloniale
France's oldest tea house, founded in 1848 - now trading as Compagnie & Co.
The Méric family started Compagnie Coloniale in Paris in 1848. In 2022, the name was changed to Compagnie & Co. It is still the oldest French tea house. At first, the house focused on chocolate, but by the end of the 1800s, it had switched to tea and quickly became a symbol of luxury in Paris. One of its most famous methods is steam aromatisation. The brand mixes and packages its teas in its French workshops, which are now in Dissay, Vienne. It sells a variety of single-origin teas and exclusive blends in more than 300 stores.

Why we love this brand
Over 175 years of French tea, and the oldest tea house in France: Compagnie Coloniale (now Compagnie & Co) has selected and packaged in France since 1848.
