Mirto

Madrid shirtmaker since 1956, producing menswear and womenswear in its own Spanish facilities.

Mirto is a Spanish family-owned fashion house founded in Madrid in 1956. The brand built its reputation on dress shirts for men, designed and made in its own production facilities in Spain. Today the collection covers menswear and womenswear, with shirts remaining the central category alongside suits, knitwear, polos, trousers, ties, swimwear, outerwear and homewear.

The brand produces most of its garments in-house in Spain. The few inputs sourced abroad come exclusively from European suppliers, selected after compliance testing on quality and working conditions. Its name refers to myrtus, the Mediterranean evergreen shrub historically associated with victory and peace.

The label sits within Mirto Corporación Empresarial, a family-owned group also operating the brands Exigency, Liza and Baruc, and the exclusive distributor in Spain, Portugal and Andorra for Swedish brand Bread&Boxers. The group has been awarded the Spanish National Fashion Award by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism. Mirto collections are sold in over 500 multi-brand stores and more than 120 shop-in-shops in department stores worldwide, alongside the brand's online platform.

Why we love this brand

Mirto was founded in Madrid in 1956 to make dress shirts for men, and the shirt remains its anchor seven decades later. Production happens in the brand's own facilities in Spain, with the few subcontracted supplies sourced exclusively from European countries after compliance testing. The catalogue now extends to womenswear, suits, knitwear, ties and homewear, though shirtmaking still defines the house. The parent group has been distinguished with the National Fashion Award by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.
