Italian leather bags born in Ljubljana, finished by hand in Slovenia
Some hides are soft and fluid, others firmer, more inclined to hold their shape. At Viva’s, that difference decides the form: two small crossbody bags, made for a phone and keys, are each designed around the nature of the leather, and conceived to use the small offcuts left over from making the other bags.
The brand began in Ljubljana in 2015 with a simple idea: leather bags for everyday life, pared back to the essentials. Its founder, Živa Ferlež, leads it from the studio in Ljubljana. The pieces are made in small quantities in Slovenia, with much of the work finished by hand, in Italian leather whose grain and tone vary from one hide to the next.
Totes, work bags, crossbody bags and a leather jacket make up a collection built slowly: the brand’s first zipped bag took nearly a year to get right. The rest is best discovered on the site, piece by piece.
A brand that lets the leather decide: two bags designed around the softness or firmness of the hide, born from production offcuts. Production in small quantities in Slovenia, largely finished by hand. And an openly stated preference for repair over replacement.
