O Fil Du Cuir is the leather atelier of Valérie Rivat, a Sellière Maroquinière d'Art who trained for ten years at Hermès before founding her own workshop in 2012 at Montagny, just south of Lyon. She designs and hand-stitches the whole range, handbags, wallets, card holders, purses, belts, glasses cases, desk sets, toiletry bags and pouches, working to order or in very small series. Her pieces use full-grain European leather, some of it reclaimed from the surplus of luxury houses, finished in the saddle-stitching tradition with seams locked off by hand. Colours and combinations can be personalised on request, and O Fil Du Cuir also runs leatherwork classes in the atelier.
