Bilum
Bilum is a French upcycling house founded in 2005 that gives salvaged materials a second life as bags and accessories. Its raw materials have already served a purpose: advertising tarpaulins, exhibition canvases, decommissioned Air France seat covers and Gendarmerie jackets, finished with handles cut from reclaimed car seatbelts. The range covers backpacks, totes, toiletry bags, pouches, wallets and laptop sleeves, with the occasional piece of furniture. Design and manufacture are entirely French, from the Bilum workshop in Choisy-le-Roi to partner workshops elsewhere in the country, and because each bag begins with a unique offcut, no two are identical. For readers who want upcycled bags and accessories that are durable, one of a kind and genuinely made in France, Bilum has been a reference in the field for two decades.
