Güde
Each knife hand-forged from a single steel billet in Solingen - knifemaking as applied art.
Güde is a high-end knife maker that has been around since 1910 and is known for making knives by hand from a single piece of steel. The brand is one of the few in Solingen that still makes knives in very small batches, with more than 40 steps for each blade. The steel is an alloy of chromium, vanadium, and molybdenum that has been frozen to make it as hard and precise as possible for cutting. One person puts together each Güde knife from start to finish. The Alpha series, which is their most famous line of knives, has become a worldwide standard for artisan knives.

Why we love this brand
Every Güde knife is hand-forged from a single piece of steel in Solingen by a single artisan: knifemaking as applied art, with an edge that impresses at every use.
