Âne & Gramme
A card is drawn, a word is spelled out loud, and around the table everyone scribbles on their sheet to find the anagram before the others. That is the whole idea behind Âne & Gramme, a card game born in spring 2022 in a family business in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, on rue des Cinq Diamants. The name sets the tone: MERCI hides CRIME, and 336 cards wait to be turned over, split into three decks, green for beginners, blue for experienced players, red for the bonus cards that ask for cities, countries, famous figures and English words. Dictionaries and anagram solvers stay in the cupboard. The boxes are made in the Aube by Ferriot Cric, a family-run company, on FSC-certified paper and board, with plant-based inks certified Imprim'Vert, with no plastic parts and no needless padding. A second game takes the capital as its playing field: famous Parisians, streets, metro stations, monuments and old trades hide behind a clue, and every card carries a historical or cultural note. Two games playable from age 10, for two players or ten, found in neighbourhood bookshops, toy libraries and board game bars. All that is left is to find a sheet of paper and a pen.
