CollectionEU Register
CollectionEU Register
Where your products
are made, checked
in person.
A form, a fifteen-minute video call, and a dated public record with a number that anyone can open.
The brand next to you
looks exactly the same.
You pay two or three times more to have your production made in Oldenburg, in Roanne, in Edinburgh. On a product page, you are indistinguishable from a brand that writes European craftsmanship and manufactures elsewhere.
You carry the cost of being honest without getting the benefit. That is the whole problem, and it has never had a cheap solution.
Certification exists. It costs several thousand euros a year, it requires an on-site audit by an accredited body, and it assumes you keep product-by-product cost accounting. It was designed for industrial companies, not for a brand of three people.
What we check,
and what we don't.
This list is the whole product. A register that verified everything would cost what a certification costs. We verify one thing, seriously, and we say so.
We verify
- That your company exists, in its national register
- That your workshop exists, at the address you declare
- That your invoices are consistent in dates, volumes and addresses
- That your retail price is compatible with making in that country
- That the workshop is real, seen live and filmed during the call
- That the making of the products in scope happens there, entirely
We do not verify
- The origin of fabrics, yarns, components or hardware
- Weaving, knitting, tanning, dyeing or finishing, unless listed
- Working conditions or wages at any site
- Environmental impact of any kind
- Product quality, durability or safety
- Compliance with any other standard or scheme
A record is a dated statement of fact about a place of making. Not a certification, not a quality mark, not a sustainability label.
Five steps, thirty minutes of your time.
-
You fill in the file15 min
Your company number, your workshop's name and address, the product categories concerned, and two or three recent invoices from that workshop.
-
We pre-screen itfree
We cross-check the national registers and the internal consistency of your documents. If the file cannot work, we tell you and nothing is invoiced.
-
You are invoicedonly now
Once the file is admissible, and never before. The fee pays for the examination, not for its outcome.
-
The call15 min
You show us the workshop live. We give two instructions drawn at random at that moment, and ask two factual questions about your file. The conversation is not recorded. Only the sequence where you turn the camera to the workshop is recorded, as the evidence behind your record, and no one may be in frame.
-
The record is published
With its number, its date, the city, the scope it covers and the scope it does not. You receive the mark and its embed code.
What you put
on your own pages.
The value is not on our site. It is on yours, at the moment someone is deciding whether to believe you.
A French brand, production verified in Barcelona in August 2026
One mark, in one form, drawn by us so that nothing can be composed wrongly. It carries your record number, the country you are registered in, every production you have verified, the date your record was issued, and the address where anyone can open it.
You put it once, where someone is weighing you up: your home page, your footer, your about page. Also your lookbooks, your catalogues and your press documents. No code to paste on every product.
The bottom line carries the scope. Where your record covers your whole range it reads ALL PRODUCTS. Where it covers only part of it, the line names the part it covers, and the rest is named in plain words on your record.
Your record can also carry the workshop sequence filmed during the call, muted and dated, if you and your workshop both want it published. It is the single most convincing thing a buyer can see, and it is optional.
The mark is a link to your record. That link is what separates a register from a sticker.
One hundred eighty euros
a year.
Your record does not expire, it simply carries its date. Once a year you can refresh it, which is included. If you have changed workshop in the meantime, that new workshop is examined and charged separately.
We price by the number of places we have to check, not by the number of products you sell. A workshop already in the register costs you nothing extra.
Same price for every brand, whether your listing on collectioneu.com is free or paid. Paying more for visibility does not buy a better verification, and we would rather write that down than be asked.
The fair questions.
- Why now?
- From 27 September 2026, EU rules stop brands from calling themselves sustainable, responsible or eco without proof, and ban self-made sustainability logos. Where a garment is made is a geographical fact, not an environmental claim, so it escapes that regime. It is about to become the one argument that still works, which is a good reason to be able to show it.
- Is this mandatory?
- No. Nothing obliges you to be verified. But misleading a buyer about geographical origin has been prohibited since 2005, and an authority may require you to prove a factual claim. A dated file is the difference between proving it and hoping.
- I already say it on my website.
- So does the brand next to you, with the same words. The difference is not what you say, it is that someone else can confirm it and that a customer can check without taking your word for it.
- My workshop does not want to be named.
- By default we publish the city only, never the name or address. Naming a workshop requires its own written consent, given case by case and revocable. We know what a client list is worth in this trade.
- You list brands and you verify them. Are you judge and jury?
- We sell no product and take no commission on any sale. Our fees are public, fixed, and identical for everyone, and they are paid for the examination, never for its outcome. A verified status has no effect on ranking in the directory. And anyone who doubts a record can contest it: the decision report behind every record is hashed and published, so it can be produced and checked.
- What if you refuse me?
- A refusal is never published, and never disclosed to anyone. Pre-screening is free precisely so that a file that cannot work is stopped before you pay.
Records are numbered.
They are issued in order, so an early record carries a low number, and keeps it. A register is one of the few things where arriving early stays visible.
