KS Vestiaire Intemporel

From size 34 to 50, cuts tested on real women

At KS Vestiaire Intemporel, a garment only exists once it has been tried on by “us, our friends, our mums”, in several sizes and on different body shapes. Until everyone is convinced, the prototype goes back to the workshop. Behind the K is Katya, who worked in fast fashion in Hong Kong and visited factories in China; behind the S is Sophie, more than ten years in art direction at France 2 before turning to image consulting in Switzerland. They met over lunch in a network of women entrepreneurs.

Here the cut comes before everything else: well-placed darts, lengths that balance the silhouette, necklines that flatter the bust without flattening it, from size 34 to 50. The wardrobe, designed in Switzerland, brings together shirts, long and short skirts, trousers, camisoles and tops, in cupro and Ecovero viscose, Tencel or GOTS cotton depending on the piece. Each month a capsule goes on pre-order and is only made once the orders are in. Several pieces are sewn in Bordeaux. In the interest of transparency: for one cupro camisole, the site states both that it is made in Bordeaux and “Made in Turquie” in its composition. The rest is best discovered, cut by cut, on the brand’s own site.

Why we love this brand

Two founders who try every prototype on the women around them before signing it off, and who design for the women the big retailers overlook. A monthly pre-order that avoids producing for stock. And product pages that state where the garment is sewn.
